How Do We Impact These Kids?

Our Soccer program uses soccer as a tool to be able to start working with the kids. The youth in Guatemala will do ANYTHING to be able to play soccer. It is what they live and breath there. So when we come and offer an opportunity to join a FREE soccer league there are hundreds wanting to try out for the team.

Once we form the teams we provide them with a very high level training and coaching of soccer. We work on all areas of their skill sets and also hold a league where they compete against other schools. From there in order to train for the day they have to memorize a verse we leave them with the week before and say that verse as their ticket into practice.

After the soccer training side of practice, we sit and have a devotional time where we teach them about Christ and who He is and what He did for us. We also talk about life. We talk to them about the things that they face on a daily basis, such as drugs, gangs, alcohol and how to handle them.

We develop trust, respect, and they are able to see we genuinely care and love for them and through that we are able to enter into their hearts and reach them and impact them spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually.

We are able to work with them spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally through soccer which is very important but what about their current situation? What hope can they grab onto in their current physical situation? They live in these red zones, these gang-controlled areas, where there is not much hope to graduate from high school much less go to college.

Through this business we will be able to teach these boys and girls life skills that they wouldn’t be able to learn elsewhere. And through this life skills they can find good jobs and provide for themselves, their families, and their futures. They would be able to get out of these poverty, gang full red zones and somewhere safer.

They will learn to tile, carpentry, paint, drywall, to remodel kitchens, bathrooms and much much more!
